PestStop LLC was established in 2019 by Dr. Shirley Chao, Professor of Entomology and Toxicology at Fayetteville State University, a constituent of the University of North Carolina system.
Dr. Chao’s research lab developed two organic patented products derived from hemp, given the name CannaMix and HDX. Both pesticides have been successfully tested for functionality in the lab with effective control against the following insects pests: poultry pests such as the darkling beetle, grain storage pests such as the Indian meal moth and red flour beetles, cockroaches, and houseflies.

Safe and effective pest management requires novel and selective pesticides that target the pests without health risks to livestock, pets, pollinators, and humans. Our patented formulations derived from hemp will meet the need for such pesticides.
The pesticides developed by the Chao Lab provide a safe and highly effective, low cost alternative for insect control. The ingredients that make up these two pesticides are generally recognized as safe (GRAS) and have shown no observed toxicity in fish and chickens.
